The Premier League title race will go to the final day, as Manchester City and Arsenal set for a thrilling battle as we enter the final week of the season.

Pep Guardiola’s side are aiming to win a fourth league title in a row – a feat that has never been achieved in the history of English football, and the title is still in their hands.

The champions beat Fulham on Saturday to put the pressure on Arsenal ahead of their visit to Manchester United, but the Gunners responded with a tense win in the Old Trafford rain to return to the top of the table.

It means Cuty must go to Tottenham on Tuesday night and win if the title is to be in their hands on the final day. Should they slip up, it will be match point Arsenal as they dream of winning a first league title in 20 years.

Arsenal have ensured they pushed Pep Guardiola’s side to the end of the season - which was all they could do. Since that costly 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa last month, Mikel Arteta’s side have simply picked up where they left off - but they know it may not be enough.

The Gunners look like they will take Manchester City to the final day after an impressive four-match winning run against Chelsea, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Manchester United. It’s still only a one-point gap over Pep Guardiola’s side, but the champions can’t afford to slip up now.

Arsenal still need City to drop points but they have taken it to the final day, and their superior goal difference ensures that even a draw for City at Spurs would leave Arsenal in control. Mikel Arteta’s side play Everton on the final day. The Toffees are safe and signed off their home campaign with a 1-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend.

Manchester City have never won at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola. Now they will have to, if they want to be in control of their fate ahead of the final day of the season. The champions visit Spurs on Tuesday to play their final game in hand, in what is set to be a complicated night for the hosts. Arsenal could do with a favour from their north London rivals, but Spurs fans do not want to help the Gunners on their way to a first league title in 20 years.

City have won at Spurs this season, in the FA Cup, while Ange Postecoglou has said they will be up for the challenge as they try to catch Aston Villa in the race for the top-four. That could be decided by Monday, if Aston Villa beat Liverpool, otherwise, Tottenham have to win their remaining fixtures to stand any chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

On the final day, City will host a West Ham side with nothing to play for, with David Moyes earning a win in his final home game in charge with a victory over Luton last weekend.

Manchester City’s win at Fulham officially ruled Liverpool out, but Jurgen Klopp conceded their title challenge long before. Liverpool could not afford any more dropped points after a 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford and a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, but it was Everton who may have landed the final blow as Klopp lost at Goodison Park for the first time and Liverpool were stunned by Sean Dyche’s side in a 2-0 defeat in the Merseyside Derby.

The Reds have a trip to Aston Villa on Monday night and then Klopp waves goodbye against Wolves at home on the final day.
